Abstract

A prospective analysis of the production and management conditions at 14 fish tearing farms from the Mexican States of México and Morelos was accomplished. For this, the bacteriological quality of the water, fish and foos were surveyed at each of the farms. Seven species of ichtyopathogenic bacteria were detected in the water, fish and fish food from three fish rrearing farms. In the three differents sample types pathogenic bacteria with high potential for the infection of fish were identified: Aeromonas hydrophila (Aeromonas formicans, Aeromonas proteolytica, Aeromonas punctata), R.M. bacterium (Yersinia ruckeri, Ewing et al., 1978), Vibrio fluvialis and Vibrio parahaemolyticus The presence of pathogens like Pseudomonas mallei, Pseudomonas malthophilia, Enterobacter cloacae, Enterobacter agglomerans, Ewingella americana, Klebsiella, Serratia plymuthica, Alcaligenes spp y Flavobacterium meningosepticum is an indicator of pollution by faeces of warm blood animals, these bacterias can originate heatlh problems. Aeromonas calco vars, anitrat and lwoffi were identified in three types of sample from the twelve fish farms; eventhhough, these bacteria have not been reported in the scientific literature, and have been only presented in the Analytical Profile Index (1989).
