Abstract

Diversity estimations (H') of copepoda community at Baja California Sur Pacific Ocean, as well the determination of interspecific associations obtained in July 1987 and 1988, shown a significant difference between those years at the study area for diversity values as well the structure of that associations; the estimated diversity in July 1987 is remarkable lower than those calculated for the same month en 1988. Likewise, the associations between species were different of one year to another, but both have a common feature: the persistence of two calanoid species Calanu pacificus and Paracalanus parvus, they are very frequent and abundant. The first one, averaged in July 1987 (N=30) 103,593 ind/1000m3 and 38,365 ind/1000m3 in July 1988 (N=40). The second one, averaged, in same order, 1,190 and 2,027 ind/1000m3. Prominent characteristics of the association to both years are: the 58% of 76 identified species wer recurrents, a confined species group is dominant, and the community in July 1987 and 1988 have an abundance distribution pattern between species very similar.
