Abstract

The binomial Gracilaria parvispora I.A. Abbott (Gracilariaceae, Rhodophyta) is assigned to gracilarioid plants growing in the coastal lagoons and estuaries of Laguna Superior, Inferior, Mar Muerto, and Mar Tileme from Gulf of Tehuantepec, in the South Central Mexican Pacific (Oaxaca-Chiapas). The taxon is described in detail and its taxonomic relationships ith other similar taxa are briefly discussed. This species has a tropical-subtropical distribution in the Pacific Ocean.
