Abstract

The eological diversity, have two meanings in the science of ecology: 1) species richness and 2) the double concept with species richness joined to relative abundance of species. Associated exist too many diversity measures such as, species richness indexes, abundance-species models and the relative abundance indexes. Each of them are analized about advantages, limitations, interpretations and is stressed the best methodological references for a proper utilization.
